Leisa and I went to Lafayette in July, 2007 as missionaries to the homeless, drug addicts and gang members in the city. During our year there, the Lord opened many other doors of outreach and established a community support group for those living in homeless camps along the Wabash River.
Seed of Abraham Teaching Ministry was originally a Bible based outreach to the greater Lafayette, Indiana area. Over time, the Lord allowed us to see the borders of our ministry vision expanded.
While some asserted that Seed of Abraham was "the newest church in Lafayette,” it was always our belief that Lafayette had enough churches as it was and that our purpose there was not to add to that number, but to call out to the spiritually sleeping Brothers and Sisters in the community until they were fully awake.
However, we found that many of the churches in the city were less than welcoming toward individuals possessed of a conviction to preach the entire Word of God without reservation. Therefore, we began holding services as a fellowship.
We met for worship at our home. There, the “whole counsel of God” was preached without reservation, to the glory of the Lord!
Our missionary outreaches were focused upon the homeless community of Lafayette and West Lafayette. We were also blessed to be able to send a small rapid response team on mobile missions to communities along the Tippecanoe River, where flooding had left many people homeless and ill clothed.
In July, 2008 we left Lafayette, due in part to my failing health. It was at that time that the Board of Elders of Holy Mountain Mission Corps, asked me to begin the work of taking the ministry completely on-line, with the intent that it may one day be used as an electronic classroom by students of Armor of Light Missionary Academy.
